The journey of Lead Counselors began in 2011, when attorney Karwan Himat founded the firm under the name Khori Yasa Law Office—inspired by a vision to illuminate the legal path for clients, much like the sun sheds light on all it touches.
Registered officially in 2015 under the KRG’s Company Registrar (No. 21940), the firm quickly earned recognition from the Ministry of Natural Resources as a licensed Oilfield Service Company (OSC) for legal services (License No. 100056). From its earliest days, the practice was rooted in strategic insight, rigorous precision, and a keen understanding of Iraq’s evolving legal and commercial terrain.
With deep legal insight and an adaptive approach, the firm gained prominence for its precision in practice and understanding of Iraq’s legal and commercial environment. In 2020, Lead Counselors was formally registered with the Kurdistan Bar Association (Reg. No. 44), reinforcing its institutional credibility and regulatory compliance.
The firm rebranded in 2022 as Lead Legal Practice, marking a milestone in its expansion journey. Today, as Lead Counselors, it is recognized for its strategic legal expertise and client-centered philosophy, driven by a team of seasoned legal professionals.
