What began in 2011 as Khori Yasa Law Office—founded by attorney Karwan Himat—was born from a vision to guide clients through the complexities of law as surely as sunlight guides the traveler. With unwavering purpose, the firm set out to illuminate legal paths with clarity and wisdom.
Registered officially in 2015 under the KRG’s Company Registrar (No. 21940), the firm quickly earned recognition from the Ministry of Natural Resources as a licensed Oilfield Service Company (OSC) for legal services (License No. 100056). From its earliest days, the practice was rooted in strategic insight, rigorous precision, and a keen understanding of Iraq’s evolving legal and commercial terrain.
In 2020, new regulatory pathways opened for law firm registrations under the Kurdistan Bar Association. Embracing this opportunity, the firm obtained Registration No. 44 and, in 2022, reemerged with a renewed identity—Lead Legal Practice—signifying a bold new chapter. Now known as Lead Counselors, the firm continues to evolve while staying true to its founding ideals.
